Survey With Robby Alomar announcing his retirement today some are labeling him as the greatest Blue Jay ever. So todays question is naturally: Who do you think is the greatest all-time Jay? (stats in brackets indicate all-time leaders) Carlos Delgado (runs, doubles, home runs and RBI) Tony Fernandez (hits and triples) Lloyd Moseby (stolen bases) John Olerud (onbase percentage) Roberto Alomar (batting average) Dave Stieb (wins, shutouts, complete games, strikeouts) Jimmy Key (ERA) Tom Henke (saves) Joe Carter Roy Halladay Roger Clemens Fred McGriff Todd Stottlemyre Devon White Duane Ward Pat Borders Kelly 'Faceplant' Gruber Other:___________
Comments:
hmmm this is a pretty tough one.
my favourite is pat borders but i might have to say joe too, since he helped bring the world series to toronto
When I first was putting the list together I thought I was gonna have to go with big Carlos, but after careful consideration I think that Dave Steib's accomplishments are more impressive so he gets my vote.
Devon White and Fred 'Crime Dog' McGriff are my all-time favorites Pat Hentgen should've also been on the list (i forgot about his cy young)
To add my vote I would argue for Robbie Alomar as the greatest 2B to play for the Blue Jays. I would even go a step further and saying hes the best defensive infielder to play for the Jays, I wouldn't go as far as saying best defensive player period because Dev-o White in my opinion was one crazy mofo.
the real question is who was the jays 2nd best second baseman?
