Each list of four actors contains 3 who stared in a movie together plus a fourth random actor. All the randoms are from the same movie. Try to name each of the movies plus the bonus. 3. Robe Lowe, Sarah Polley, Jay Mohr, Katie Holmes
4. Sean Connery, Michael Caine, John Spencer, Ed Harris

Random Mutterings
Watched CTVs docu-drama 'Plague City: SARS in Toronto' last night. Normally I don't pay much attention to made for tv movies, but 1) there is nothing on tv sunday nights, and 2) SARS and I go way back. Overall the movie was decent, nothing great, but it wasn't bad enough for me to make fun of (well there were a couple good cases of over-acting but not too serious). My beef is that they changed the names of the hospitals in the movie. Now I understand why they do this for most movies, but when you're basing it on actual events why not just call them the Scarborough Grace and North York General...none of this fictitious 'Toronto Memorial' and 'Norfolk General' crap.

Things you don't want to hear the person cutting your hair say:
"meh, close enough"
"hmmmmmm......"
"oh well, nothing is perfect"
"oops"
and boy is it great when you get to hear all of those in one sitting

stupid London won the Memorial Cup with Guelph's goalie and top defenceman, and all their stupid overaged players, stupid, stupid, stupid.....man i forgot how much i can hate hockey sometimes

ok I'm outta here, happy monday... not one but two games!

Top 5
Now that may sweeps are over it only seems appropriate that someone ranks the top 5 season finales.

5. CSI
4. Grey's Anatomy
3. ER
2. 24
1. LOST

If you saw any of these finales then you know what I'm talking about, and if you're one of those people who was disapointed with any of those finales well you can cram it with walnuts...beeotch!

and on a related note, how come beeotch doesn't look nearly as good in text as it sounds when you say it?

oh yeah anyone see ken jennings get his ass served to him? man that hurt, not only did he not win the tourny of champs but he didn't even win a single day....its ok though this brad guy just got lucky....lets see him try to get his own board game and tv show....yeah thats what i thought pal....brad was so unimpressive that i don't even remember his last name....plus i heard that before the tournament brad and the other guy broke ken's buzzer thumb and kidnapped his family....true story

AAAHHHH!

okay i need to work on my segways a little, but i needed something to go from the tv portion of this post into the non-tv part....its a work in progress. So anyway over the long weekend there were a few firework related house burnings and such, and it turns out that Scarborough dominates the game. You see the rest of the GTA are only allowed to sell/purchase fireworks in the 10 days preceding Victoria Day and Canada Day, but once you're past vic park its 365 days a year of firework buying goodness. Now some of the other regions are petitioning their members of parliment to get the law changed to be more like Scarborough....thats right chumps Scarborough!

and heres a fun game for your troubles

Television Roundup
This post was gonna be here yesterday, but I got lazy.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday = intense television action
First of all the three days represent the (triumphant?) return of Ken Jennings to the Jeopardy podium, to take on the most dangerous game of all.....man! So its a three day nerd-off, I predicted Ken was gonna dominate the competition and for a while today it looked like he might, but as it stands hes sitting in third place after day 1. Might have to nickname him comeback ken after wednesday

Still on Monday, was the 24 two hour finale. Rumors were that one or more of the major characters was gonna bite the dust....turns out this was not to be (although i 'spose Jack was technically dead for a couple minutes) anyway the episode(s) dominated. 24 is definitly the most intense show on television...plus its chock-full of Canadian content which is a nice bonus.

On tuesday we get round two of the Keninator, plus the season finale of what might be the best new show on tv (the best new show set in a hospital on the east coast at least) House. I don't think anything too rediculous is supposed to happen, but its a great show so be sure to check it out.

Wednesday is when Big Kenny gets crowned the greatest Jeopardy player in the history of the world....and I'm pretty sure that he gets to eat the souls of his competition, thus making him three times more powerful, either that of a big phat cheque for two million.

Then its a two hour LOST finale that I am expecting to be pure and total insanity....anything short of polar bear/dragon hybrids and I might be disapointed. Probably not, but how sweet would a fire-breathing polar bear be. Plus they're already signed on for a season 2 so we know there isn't going to be a corny rescue...and if there is I personally guarantee some serious fist shaking in the direction of the television.

If you're still reading this I recomend you aquire 'The Dog Song' by Nellie Mckay, it was featured on the season finale of Grey's Anatomy on sunday (which rocked by the way).

Damn I watch a lot of tv....I blame it on the lack of hockey. Speaking of the lack of hockey, the Memorial Cup tourny is on right now....and man do I hate the London Knights, but that post will come at the conclusion of the tournament.

Time for a real post
well its been awhile since i've posted something, so here it goes. went to see kasabian last night. good show. they put on a very good live show. one of the better bands i've seen, even if the lead singer dances around like a goof. looks like next tickets on the list to buy is coldplay at the ACC. who wants in??

apprentice finale pretty much sucked. its was boring and that chick that lost was an idiot. i'm happy with the outcome, but the show could have been much better. speaking of finales, the OC was pretty good. made up for most of the year. too bad i missed last weeks.

hmmm what else....? oh i hate people who waste all your time at work asking you which tool they should buy when they just go and buy the cheapest piece of shit, even thou you tell them that it won't do what they need it to do. if you're just gonna buy the cheapest thing there don't waste my time.

off to waterloo tomorrow for jona's bday. should be fun. meeting back up with jona, diane, faye and phil after they took off and left me last night after the concert :P (had to work at home depot this weekend... stupid work)

Survey Time!
Haven't had one of these for a while.
Apparently someone else in Scarborough purchased my $25 million super 7 ticket. I really thought I had it this time...anyway he goes to claim his prize and they ask the guy what hes gonna do with the money, and what is his first purchase gonna be? a castle in the clouds? a helper monkey? a small island? nope. a riding lawnmower...clearly he hasn't priced these out before, or doesn't realize how much 25,000,000 is.

So the question is: If that was you what'r you buyin first?

I'm buyin a cottage and then going on a cross-canada golf road trip.

Pet Peeve of the Day
If you have some no-name brand cola DO NOT offer people pepsi or coke, because yes there is a difference.

Also people who claim to not be able to tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi on taste alone either have no taste buds or should be shot....no middle ground.

Rock the Vote (or die!)
Remember that election we had last summer? man that was fun stuff, if another one gets called soon i'm gonna try to break my 26 hour shift record. Anyway I think we should have elections every year...fuck it, twice a year cause everyone loves elections. But i'm not here to talk about the potential new candidates and outcomes, i'm talkin about the folks we put in office last year...these guys are hilarious.

One day in the not too distant past i was flipping channels in the middle of the day (because i'm still unemployed...but thats a rant for another day) and i stop on channel 23: cbc newsworld, i think thats what its called. They're showing live debate from the house of commons, now normally this wouldn't stop me from flipping channels because there is a good chance an old CSI/Law & Order/Third Watch is running somewhere. But what made me halted my clicker finger was a group of (well educated?) adults screaming at each other....and i mean screaming, like a six-year old kid at highland farms that didn't get the count chocula cereal he wanted. Screaming and pounding their desks, no way anyone can comprehend anything that is being 'debated'. but wait theres more....

Not only are they proud majors in primal scream techniques, but they're comedians too. Every once and a while the screaming and desk pounding stops (i'm not sure if there is a system to it or if its random...more research is needed) this is when the elected officials throw slanderous one-liners at the opposition. Now this is the part where i wished i'd been paying more attention, so i'm just gonna tell it how i think it went down, the leader of the opposition calls on one of his lackys to deliver a napkin to the king of ontario (i think king is more fun than premier), because 'the health care plan appears to have been writen on a bar napkin' (oh snap!). The king accepts this napkin because 'it is likely the only paper napkin the opposition leader has ever touched' (double snap!). Apparently the opposition leader is loaded, with money not booze (maybe both?). There was then more screaming and desk pounding, and then I think they ended the whole thing with a wild orgy, i can only assume there was an orgy because they turned the live feed off (and what other reason could they have)

So in conclusion I hope to have your support and your votes when I run for office in 2010. If you've made it this far, congratulations that was a lot of reading here is your prize, its my new favorite game.

"hey get a load of these stupid mofos"
thats what I imagine the workers at the golf course were saying about us this morning....it was so cold (how cold was it?) it was so cold that the flag poles were frozen, an actual layer of ice on them ...oh yeah it was an impressive adventure
the first three holes went 8-5-8, my tee shot on 11 was par for the round, just one garbage shot after another...only lost one ball though (on my second shot of the day)

and speaking of LOST, anyone watching that? only a couple of episodes remain, and theres gotta be some crazy stuff go down

if anyone needs to get a hold of me just call 'bub void'

Whole lotta nuthin goin on
Alrighty this is going to turn into quite a long post, i can feel it already, lots to talk about but nothing of substance. So you can just skip this potentially rambling post, or grab an ice cold pepsi, sit back and enjoy.

Okay first on the agenda the reigning NBA MVP, Canada's own Steve Nash! woohoo, now i know there is some debate that shaq daddy shoulda been awarded the....award. Unfortunatly for the big aristotle i'm not supporting his camp, and maybe i'm biased, and maybe nash had more to work with in phoenix, but damnit look what he did with that team. They went from 5th worst to best in the league and Nash was the only playing in the entire league averaging over 10 assists per game. I'll go on about this more later if necessary, but for now its just congratulations to the first canadian, third whitey and sixth guard to bring home the mvp.

Next on the list is the knife sharpening guy. whats up with that shit, driving around in his truck clanging his bell, i keep picturing grown men running down their driveways, arms full of knives calling out to this guy. but i don't see that happening, all i see is the neigborhood dogs going insane....and an insane dog is not the pretty picture that movies make it up to be....damned hollywood

Moving right along, we come next to GOLF! yeah golf. got out this week and played my first round of the year, and played early enough that we had to wait for a frost delay to get out on the course (for future reference "frost delay" is golf course code for the cashier is hungover and hasn't made it in to work yet). I had a fairly decent, consistant round (with the exception of a quadruple bogey on the 12th hole). Played well enough to win (with an 81), and not lose any balls, and thats all that i'm out for (that and the elusive 72).

From the game that I dominate and onto that one that owns me....poker. Now if I had been told going into this tournament that I would be the second player eliminated, i would have shrugged and said 'yeah probably'. If i also had been told that I would be happy with how i played, i might not have bought into that one so much. But thats just the way it went, i played the way i wanted to and for the most part it was working, unfortunatly sometimes you just don't have the cards. Shout out to Dennis, Jamie and my bacon-mate Steve for making the final table.

Okay how bout some tv talk now. Third Watch had their series finale on friday, I didn't really get hooked on it until this season (the 5th), but fortunatly A&E plays seasons 1-4 daily at 5pm. So i got caught up quick, i dunno if anyone reading here watchs Third Watch so i won't go into any story lines or anything. Instead i'm gonna talk about the tight grip that telivision has on my life, when the last show was over i was sad...not because of any plot twists or anything like that....just sad in general that this was a good show and it wasn't going to be on tv anymore. Is that messed up? does anyone else feel like that? and its not just third watch, its just about any show or event. when its over i feel its almost like a death in the family (not quite, but i can't think of a better analogy). I feel like i didn't appreciate that times when it was around and that i took it for granted. the ultimate event that brings out these feelings is the olympics, they're only around for two weeks every 4 years, and when its over i'm always like 'man i really shoulda watched more of that'. damn i am a rediculous kid

The Hyundai Tiburon is Canada's most stolen vehicle. I don't really have anything to say about it, i just like knowing what the theives are after.

Soooo, how bout that gomery inquiry....... c'mon Harper call this damn election already, daddy needs a new pair of shoes!

And on that note i'm out

P.S. Skinner says the teachers are going to crack...purple-monkey-dishwasher
