Mike is an idiot.
The weather was great today, sunny with a nice breeze, and I was sitting around the house bored out of my skull so I decided to go for a walk. I headed on down to Lake Ontario and walked along the beach for a while til it met up with the path that I used to rollerblade on all the time back when I had functional rollerblades. Then I hit a point that I recognize and say to myself 'this isn't too far from home' so I decide to run the rest of the way home. Big mistake. I don't know what I was thinking, I haven't run for any reason other than to escape a pursuer in like 5 years. Its been 9 years since I've run competitivly, shit its been almost a year since I've participated in any kind of physical activity. Yet today I decided to be the marathon champion...needless to say I didn't quite make it. In fact I think I was clinically dead for a couple seconds there. For a while I actually thought I was doing ok, I was in pain, but I was a good pain.

Then I got to the monster hill....oh crap, this hill and I have a history. This hill is right at the start of the path, so if you're rollerblading its great because you can build up some crazy speed at the start of your trek....unfortunatly the hill is still waiting for you at the end of the trek too. So I say 'fuck it, I'm tough this hill ain't got nuthin on me', or at least thats what I said when I was still at the bottom. Halfway to the top I think one of my legs fell off, I'm not sure because I had pretty much lost feeling from the knees down. So I limp/struggle/roll myself to the top of the hill and just sit there sucking wind for a good ten minutes (it coulda been longer, I kinda zoned out for a bit). Then I just walked the rest of the way home on my rubbery legs, wobbling all over the sidewalk, I think the people I passed figured I was drunk and/or high but I didn't care, my only focus was on the ice cold pepsi waiting in the fridge for me when I got back.

I get home and open the fridge.....no pepsi....motherfucker!
