Top 10 All-Time Best Movie Characters
The criteria for the characters on my list are that 1) they can't be based on a real person (so eliot ness, butch cassidy, capt. virgil hilts, etc. are excluded) and 2) the character can't be taken from a book (excluding james bond, ebenezer scrooge, the joker, jason bourne, etc.). So in no particular order heres the list:

Yoda (Frank Oz - Star Wars I, II, III, V, VI)
Quint (Robert Shaw - Jaws)
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford - Raiders of the Lost Ark / The Temple of Doom / The Last Crusade)
The Man with No Name (Clint Eastwood - A Fistful of Dollars / For a Few Dollars More / The Good, The Bad and The Ugly)
Col. Nathan R. Jessep (Jack Nicholson - A Few Good Men)
Roy McAvoy (Kevin Costner - Tin Cup)
John Patrick Mason (Sean Connery - The Rock)
Cruela De Vil (Betty Lou Gerson - 101 Dalmations)
Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd - Back to the Future I, II, III)
Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton - Beetlejuice)

I'm sure I missed some big obvious ones, so hit up the comments section and set me straight.

Comments:
