Top 5....kinda I'm hijacking this one from a couple of sites I saw this on earlier...check them out, they're good reads: hey freak and qwmaine. Not only two great blogs, but quite possibly the two best taglines in the history of the internet: "less bugaloo, more freak!" and "The Quest for Free, Unlimited Bacon" So here are the top 5 things I miss from childhood: 1. My sports heros were unbreakable. Now that I'm older, and they are too careers are ending...and it saddens me. Steve Yzerman: ok granted he had a mangled knee most of his career, but he was definitly more hobbled by it the last few years. Tack on to that the eye injury in his last game and who knows if he'll plat in the NHL again (assuming there is an NHL to comeback to). Jeff Bagwell: On the long-term DL with a wrecked shoulder that hes been fighting the last few years, if hes lucky he might make it back to play a couple games at the end of the season, or it might be retirement time. Drew Bledsoe: Oh how the mighty have fallen...but I guess setting league records for total sacs will do that to a guy. 2. The ice cream truck. You hear that music comming from blocks away, kids scrambling for change, trying to locate the source as quickly as possible. Then getting mad brain freeze because you had to eat those damn things sooo quick or risk losing it to a serious melting accident. Now its just an annoyance....turn the damn music off, they're arn't any kids in this neighborhood anymore. 3. Naps. Okay I didn't like them as a kid because it cut into my cartoon watching time, but man do I appreciate them now. I'm not saying I don't take the occasional nap now, except when I do it these days I feel guilty about it, like its irresponsible or something 4. Magic. When I was a kid and someone did a magic trick I actually thought there was something magical going on. Now I'm focused on figuring out where the trick is. 5. Board Games. I used to play board games all the time as a kid. Now that I'm older I still want to play them all the time, but now no one else does....thats right motherfuckers I'm talking to you! This summer we're bringing back the board game! Trivial Pursuit, Clue, Risk, Monopoly, all the classics.....game on!
