I'm just too lazy Sure I could probably look these things up, but I'm just too lazy. Think of it like a scavenger hunt...unless of course you already know these answers. Then it'd be more like a....hmmmm, I'm having a tough time with analogies lately...it'd be more like _____________. Okay then, the first question is to fill in that blank with a good analogy. Second, why do football announcers refer to the New York Giants as the 'New York Football Giants'? Is there another Giants team in New York that I'm supposed to be confused with? Third, at the start of Hockey Night in Canada on CBC there is an audio clip played (that I believe is Foster Hewitt's voice) from back when Hockey Night in Canada first started airing. The line in question is: "Good evening hockey fans in Canada, the United States and Newfoundland." How long ago did Newfoundland hook up with the rest of the country? and how old is that audio clip then? Alrighty then, now I've gotta go set my lineups before the football games start. Mike's Fantasy Football Tip O' The Week: If you've got Terrel Owens or Priest Holmes on your roster, this might be a good week to sit them.
Comments:
didn't newfoundland hook up in '49 or like the early 50s? and the audio clip could be from cbc radio.
dunno bout the football giant thing and i suck at analogies.
Not exactly sure how I stumbled across this blog. Maybe from Mighty MJD...Anyway, The San Francisco Giants originally played in New York. So there was a time when New York had both a football and a baseball team with the nickname "Giants".
New York Football Giants! As opposed to the New York Baseball Giants who moved to San Francisco years ago!
